S Jaishankar discusses Gaza conflict with Palestinian PM Shtayyeh, focusing on peaceful resolution and diplomacy.

India’s Response to Escalating Tensions in Gaza

New Delhi – Amidst the growing conflict in Gaza, India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, had a crucial phone call with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh

This conversation is part of India’s active role in addressing the longstanding conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Emphasizing India’s Stance

Minister Jaishankar stressed India’s consistent position on the conflict during this important call.

He expressed India’s worry about the violence in Gaza and the West Bank.

His words highlight India’s long-held view that peace is essential and both nations should coexist peacefully.

India’s Concern Over Violence

Jaishankar’s discussion with the Palestinian PM comes at a time when India is increasingly worried about the violence between Hamas and Israel.

In the Indian Parliament, Jaishankar called for both sides to calm down and resolve their differences through talks, not violence.

Strong Words Against Violence

Jaishankar criticized the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel and was saddened by the loss of innocent lives in the ongoing conflict.

This shows India’s balanced approach and commitment to peace in the region.

Rising Tensions in Gaza

The situation in Gaza is worrying, with Israel stepping up its military actions.

This has led to more civilian deaths and widespread damage.

World Reaction

Countries worldwide, including the United States, are trying to deal with the crisis.

However, the U.S. blocked a UN resolution asking for an immediate stop to the fighting in Gaza, showing how complicated the situation is.

India’s Consistent Approach

India has always said the same thing about the conflict: there should be direct talks to create a peaceful and independent Palestine that can live side by side with Israel.

This was also stressed by Arindam Bagchi, a spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

PM Modi’s Involvement

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke with Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian Authority

He offered condolences for lives lost at Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza and promised to keep helping the Palestinian people.

The Continuing Conflict

The fighting goes on, with Israeli forces actively battling Hamas in Gaza.

These operations, which include airstrikes and ground attacks, are aimed at Hamas fighters and their bases, making the situation even more tense.

In Summary

India, led by Minister Jaishankar, is working hard to help find a peaceful solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Through its balanced approach, condemnation of violence, and support for dialogue, India plays an important role in international efforts to bring peace to the region.
