When two legendary directors come together, magic happens.
Recently, at the Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles, SS Rajamouli, the director of RRR, had the opportunity to meet the one and only James Cameron, the mastermind behind films like Terminator, Avatar, and Titanic.
As a result, the two filmmakers shared a moment that was nothing short of extraordinary.
After SS Rajamouli shared a video of their conversation on social media, fans could not help but be excited about the possibilities of a collaboration between these two cinematic geniuses.
James Cameron even went as far as to say, “If you ever wanna make a movie over here, let us talk.”
During their conversation, James Cameron praised RRR and its director SS Rajamouli, saying, “Your fire, water story. Reveal after the reveal. And then you show what happened in the back story. So it is like all of them are a homely setup. Why he is doing what he is doing and the twists and turns and the friendship, and eventually, it gets to a point where he cannot even kill him when the other reverses. It is just so, so powerful.”
SS Rajamouli, in turn, expressed his admiration for James Cameron’s work, saying, “I saw all your movies like Big inspiration. From Terminator, Avatar, Titanic, and Everything. Loved your work.”
The two also acknowledged the work of Naatu Naatu composer MM Keeravani, who recently won a Golden Globe.
It is not every day that two legendary directors come together to discuss their love for cinema, but when they do, it is a moment that will be remembered for years.
Fans can only hope that this conversation between James Cameron and SS Rajamouli leads to something even more exciting in the future.
As SS Rajamouli said, “These words from you are more than an award for me.”
