Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical, produced for Broadway by Yash Raj Films, India’s most prestigious film studio, will make its world premiere at the Old Globe.

COME FALL IN LOVE – The DDLJ Musical will have its world premiere in San Diego from September 1 to October 16, 2022, with an official opening on September 14, 2022.
The Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, in the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, will host the limited engagement.
The film DDLJ premiered in 1995 and is the longest-running film in Indian cinema history, still running in theatres.
Maratha Mandir is the theatre in Mumbai’s Mandir Marg, where the morning show has been played since 1995.
Story of COME FALL IN LOVE
The storey of Simran, a young Indian-American girl whose future is set: an arranged marriage back in India to a family friend, is told in COME FALL IN LOVE – The DDLJ Musical.
However, she falls for the attractive Rahul after persuading her stern father to spend a summer of freedom and enjoyment in Europe. Her careful, rational plans are thrown out the window.
- Is she capable of remaining faithful to both her legacy and her heart?
- Is it possible for Rog, a freewheeling American, to win over her conventional father?
Yash Raj Films, owned by the Yash Raj family, is India’s largest film studio and has produced some of the country’s biggest hits.
Aditya Chopra, the studio’s owner, returns to directing for the studio’s 50th anniversary.
DDLJ was Aditya Chopra’s directorial debut, and the historic love drama is one of India’s rich and diverse film industry’s highest-grossing films.
The creative team will include artists from India and the United States.
Come Fall In Love Team
The musical, which is based on an original narrative by Aditya Chopra, will have a book and lyrics by Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde, Mean Girls) and composers Vishal Dadlani Shekhar Ravjiani.
Rob Ashford (Frozen, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Boys from Syracuse) and associate choreographer Shruti Merchant (Frozen, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Boys from Syracuse) will choreograph.
Design by Emmy and Tony Award winner Derek McLane (Moulin Rouge!, Hairspray Live!, 33 Variations) and music supervision by Bill Sherman will round out the creative team.
Soon after, a global casting search was launched, led by Duncan Stewart of Stewart/Whitley casting and Shanoo Sharma of Yash Raj Films casting.
Dates for the Broadway production, casting, and other members of the creative team will be disclosed later.
