Leon Harris, a former CNN host, is now working for a TV station in Washington, DC.
He was allegedly impaired when he tried to leave the scene of an auto crash in Maryland over the weekend.
Leon Harris was apprehended after his vehicle hit the rear of another vehicle, forcing it into a third car.
No one was seriously hurt in the incident.
After being stopped by police, Leon Harris failed a sobriety test and a breathalyzer test.
Harris showed his alcohol level to be twice the state’s legal limit for drivers.
Harris would not appear on air while an investigation into the crash continued.
Leon Harris faces a total of nine charges.

Harris previously pleaded guilty to DUI in 2013 for an incident in which a Maryland state trooper pulled him over.
