From 4 October 2021, the existing traffic light system with red, yellow and green countries will be removed, and there will be only one “red list“.
In addition, fully vaccinated passengers from countries not on the red list will have cheaper lateral flow tests instead of PCR tests.
In a statement, Transport Minister Grant Shapps said that they would introduce a new and simplified system for international travel from 4 October 2021, replacing the current approach with a single “red list”.
Those coming from the countries on the red list must stay in hotels near the airport for ten days at their own expense.
