BTS's Jimin Undergoes Appendicitis Tests Positive For COVID

Jimin of the South Korean boy band BTS has been hospitalized with acute appendicitis.

The 26-year-old singer and dancer were taken in for emergency surgery Sunday after experiencing sudden abdominal pain.

He also had a mild sore throat and tested positive for COVID-19 while in the hospital.

"The surgery was successful, and Jimin is currently recuperating after his procedure," Big Hit Music said in a statement.

"Jimin, whose full name is Park Ji-min, will receive several days of postoperative care and inpatient treatment for COVID-19." Big Hit added.

BTS stayed active to engage with fans in 2020 and 2021 amidst the COVID-19 situation.

BTS achieved spectacular results to cement themselves as top global artists.

The statement also revealed that the group's members, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

They were planned to spend the holiday season with their families for the first time since their debut in 2013.
