When Tanner Novlan announced his exit from The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B).
He revealed that the plot twist caught him and his on-screen wife, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, seriously off guard.
Now Wood, who plays Steffy Forrester, has shared her thoughts on the fate of John "Finn" Finnegan and the co-star she will dearly miss.
"It was bittersweet news," Wood told soap opera digest. "On one hand, the drama of it all is fantastic!"
"A shout-out to Brad [Bell; executive producer and head writer] and the writing team on this one."
"It is a fantastic twist. On the other hand, however, it also means that a colleague, excellent screen partner, and friend would be leaving."
The Daytime Emmy winner was on the same page as countless "Sinn" fans, who thought the dynamic she shared with Novlan was memorable.
"I loved the Steffy and Finn romance," Wood declared.
"When Brad brought Tanner on board, everyone was excited that the Steffy, Liam, and Hope triangle would take a break."
Notice that Wood used the phrase "take a break" when describing the triangle of doom. Could that mean we are in for another round?
"My character got to marry a handsome doctor who was a good, moral person, and we expanded our family," Wood continued.
"It was wonderful to play all those happy, angry, and conflicted moments with the new characters Finn, Jack, Li, and of course, the re-emergence of Sheila."
Wood feels Steffy's loss, even if her character is psychologically unable to at the moment. That is because she will miss Novlan just as much off-screen.
"Tanner is the absolute best," she said. "He is an all-around great guy, and we have so much in common. First and foremost, he is a fellow Canadian."
"So that is a win! But just so many other similarities. He was starting his family with Kayla [Ewell; ex-Caitlin on B&B], and I was starting mine with Elan [Ruspoli]."
"As a screen partner, he gave everything he had," she added. "It was a delight to work with him, and I hope we work together again in the future."
That last remark alone should fan the flames of steadfast "Sinn" fans who still believe Finn is in a coma somewhere.
However, unfortunately, Wood's comments indicate that Nolan's time on B&B – at least as Finn – is truly over.
