Tokyo Olympics: Jessica Fox Won The First Women’s Canoe Slalom Gold

Australia’s Jessica Fox makes Olympic history as the first gold medalist in women’s canoe slalom. Jessica Fox made the last run of the final and crushed it, beating rival and silver medalist Mallory Franklin of Britain with a winning run of 105.04 seconds.

Jessica Fox of Australia made Olympic history today by being the first woman to win a gold medal in women’s canoe slalom at the Tokyo Games.

Fox won the final with a winning run of 105.04 seconds across the Kasai Canoe Slalom Center’s rapids, defeating opponent and silver medallist Mallory Franklin of the United Kingdom.

Moreover, it was a flawless performance, free of the errors and penalty seconds that had kept her from earning gold in the kayak slalom two days prior.
